The Innovative Solutions Business Unit (ISBU) offers the following core competencies:
Acquisition Support – Acquisition Support includes professionally trained personnel who
assist program offices in developing acquisition roadmaps, conducting capability assessments,
overseeing systems development, and supporting required program and budget reviews.
C4ISR Systems Engineering – ISBU provides a variety of systems engineering efforts in support
of C4ISR systems for Navy and Marine Corps. These include the complete life cycle of support from
R&D to end of life support issues. These efforts are conducted in accordance with our CMMI Level 3
processes to ensure cost effective, solution-driven results.
Command and Control (C2) and Datalinks – ISBU provides subject matter expertise in the integration,
test and evaluation, installation and training of Command and Control systems as well as Data-links.
These efforts include supporting systems such as GCCS-M and DJC2 for the Navy and Marine Corps.
Joint Range Extension – Joint Range Extension (JRE) provides multipoint, interoperable,
line of sight (LOS) and beyond line of sight (BLOS) tactical connectivity between Link 16 networks
and C2 platforms. The Innovative Solutions Business Unit provides JRE/JTEP Software Development
Management, Configuration Management, Program Management, Training, CONUS/OCONUS Subject Matter
Expert Support, Troubleshooting and Help Desk services for the USMC, USAF, CENTCOM, NORAD/NORTHCOM,
USN, Joint Forces Schoolhouse, Range & Test Facilities, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Life-Cycle Support (ILS) – Life-Cycle Support (ILS) includes all aspects of professional Logistics
Support Analyses (LSA), including parts provisioning, warehousing, distribution, installation,
documentation, training, and system operation and maintenance.
Modeling and Simulation – Modeling and Simulation assists our customer to attain a detailed
understanding of both the interaction of the parts and of the process, mission or system as a whole –
through the development and utilization of models and simulations.
Platform Integration – ISBU provides a CMMI Level 3 Systems Engineering approach to integrating
C4N capabilities into existing platforms. Conducting efforts utilizing our ISO 9001 Quality
Assurance procedures, this work has included a wide variety of platforms including Landing
Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP), Vehicle Mounted Mine
Roller Systems, and Helicopters.
Training and Education – Training and Education programs begin with mission analysis and
include both individual and collective training. Our programs apply a wide range of training
tools, including simulations and realistic exercise scenarios, and a variety of training delivery
methods, ranging from platform to distributed, web-based and computer assisted delivery.
