Ship and Aviation Engineering – Core Capabilities
The Ship and Aviation Engineering Business Unit offers the following core
competencies:
Acquisition Support/Program Management – Professionals support virtually every Program Office in
the Naval Air Systems Command, assisting in program areas such as weapon systems
acquisition, POM/budget support, financial planning/analysis, tracking and
reconciliation, funds management and execution, financial systems support,
SAR/DAES/MAR reporting, cost and business case analysis, specification and
reporting, and a broad range of weapon system acquisition documentation.
C4ISR Support and Integration – C4ISR requirement Analysis, System Design, Engineering,
Network Architecture, Operations, Testing/Experimentation, Training, and Program
Management Support Services. Providing a long history of outstanding support to Navy and
USMC C4ISR Systems Support, Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Integration and
Life Cycle Support, Joint and Naval Concept Development and Experimentation and
Federal IT program. Support is also provided to a wide array of customers to include OSD,
DISA, NRL, Joint Staff, DoD Explosive Safety Board (DDESB), U.S. Navy, USMC, OPNAV,
and SPAWAR Atlantic.
Engineering Fabrication and Prototype Development – Provide
fabrication and prototype development, integration and testing of various avionics,
communications, navigation, landing, and GPS augmentation systems. Support
includes design and fabrication of prototype avionics systems, laboratory,
mobile, and flight testing. Flight testing and integration is performed on
commercial and military fixed, rotary wing, and unmanned aircraft.
Financial Management – Business financial
management support includes POM/budget support, financial planning, analysis,
tracking and reconciliation, funds management and execution, financial systems
support, SAR/DAES/MAR financial reporting, program/business plan development and
analysis, DoD PPBES training, and cost and business case analysis.
Installation & Maintenance – Site inspection support,
engineering drawing review and modification, Quality Assurance and testing, system operational
verification, field technical support, structural fabrication, repair and
overhaul, militarize/de-militarize commercial vessels (HSV-Navy), in-service
project engineering, complete installation support, and ship/shore
installations.
Life-Cycle Support (ILS) – In-service
engineering support, reliability and maintainability training documentation,
Fleet Engineering Support (FSTs), industrial/fleet cycle-time reduction, A/C
Inventory CM (RAMP), Stricken Aircraft Reclamation and Disposition Program
(SARDIP), component disposition and disposal, logistics planning and analysis
support, depot manufacturing support, depot production planning and analysis,
readiness based forecasting.
Software Development/IT – Software Development support includes application Development,
computer forensics, information assurance, GIS, independent verification and
validation, software Configuration Management, mission planning software,
software support to the Air Warfare Weapon System Support Activity (WSSA), and
CMMI support for software.
Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) – Primary focus on
design and development of mission systems, sensor systems, air vehicle
engineering, acoustic engineering, navigation engineering, software engineering,
communications engineering, unmanned systems integration and support, T&E
engineering, system/subsystem equipment interface design, software Configuration
Management, low observable engineering and design, signature prediction and
analysis, A/C launch and recovery systems engineering, weapons/aircraft
integration analysis, rapid prototype development and implementation solutions
for government customers. We deliver high quality engineering and technical
assistance as well as systems solutions primarily to U.S. Navy, SOCOM, Air Force,
OSD AT&L, Intelligence Community, and OSD Special Capabilities Office customers.
Technology Applications/Emerging Technologies – Experience and information security
expertise to identify, understand, and remediate security weaknesses and vulnerabilities
related to people, processes and technology. This includes security assessment, vulnerability
testing, penetration testing, forensics and audit analysis, security policy review
and development, HIPPAA compliance and Telemedicine. Additionally, Emerging Technologies
provides a wide array of incident handling, computer forensics, regulatory compliance
and application assessment to U.S. Navy, Army, and state and local governments such as the
City of Philadelphia, New York Health and Hospital, the State of New Jersey, and Delaware.
Training – Developing a prototype portable training system that replicates two
examples of aircrew operator stations to provide a low-cost training capability
for Naval reserve forces suffering severe training shortfalls due to cuts in
flight time and limited access to high fidelity training devices. Our
Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) expertise allows us to provide training/training
systems for ASW systems. We provided DOD PPBES training to numerous NAVAIR
clients.
